Nina G. Strohmeyer Obituary

Nina G. Strohmeyer, 94, of New Castle passed away the morning of July 9, 2020 at her residence.


Born on November 17, 1925 in Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Alonso Grissom and Carrie Belle Smithson Grissom.


Nina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Harold Strohmeyer.


In the early years Nina had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for an accounting firm in Texas.


She was a member of First Church of God. She served as church treasurer for twenty years. Nina also took care of the library at the church.


Nina was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother Nina’s greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.


Nina is survived by her daughter, Cara Print and her husband Donald with whom she resided, her stepson, Darvin Strohmeyer of Texas, five grandchildren, Shawn Arnold, Jeremy Arnold, Michael W. Strohmeyer, Andrea Strohmeyer, and Cory Strohmeyer, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.


In addition to her parents and husband, Nina was preceded in death by her son, Michael A. Strohmeyer and nine brothers and sisters.


A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at First Church of God.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
