Ruby L. Miles, 79, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of December 1, 2019 at UPMC Jameson.

Born on February 27, 1940 in Helena, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Amos and Ruth Anderson Hudson.

On December 18, 1976 she married her beloved husband, Eddie B. Miles who preceded her in death on April 24, 2006.

Ruby had worked on the assembly line at Rockwell International before she retired.

Ruby was an active member of St. Paul’s Baptist Church and always loved attending church services.

Ruby enjoyed visiting casinos. A loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially going on vacation cruises.

Ruby is survived by her children, Charles Hawkins of Florida, Roger Hawkins, Cedric Hawkins, John Hawkins all of New Castle, one daughter, Barbara Armstrong of North Carolina, brothers, Charles Hudson, Fletcher Hudson and his wife Marcia, Willie Hudson, sisters, Margaret Brown, Catherine Rice, Mary Loder and her husband Christopher, Linda Starkey, eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was preceded in death by her son, Eric Hawkins, sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Otha Armstrong, and brother, Albert Hudson.

Visitation will be on Friday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, 616 W. North Street.

A Home Going Service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Robert Mills will officiate.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
