Edward Joseph Moses, 88, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 2, 2020 due to natural causes.

Edward was born to the late Joseph and Raffa Yaoub Moses and was raised in New Castle, where he lived his entire life. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over sixty years, the former Theresa Mastrangelo, whom he married on November 26, 1959.

He was a graduate of New Castle High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country from 1953 to 1955. Edward was a member of St. John’s Maronite Church.

Edward was involved in the grocery business his entire career and was the owner of local businesses at Westgate Plaza and Westgate Plaza Shop n’ Save Supermarket.

His greatest joys were spending time with his family and he was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. Edward never missed one of his grandchildren’s’ events and was always one of their greatest supports. He ensured the family had regular gatherings, shared meals, and took vacations together. Edward will be fondly remembered for his quiet generosity, constant community support, and support of multiple charities. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his five sons, Joseph, Ed (Joanne), Frank (Brenda), Mark (Diane), and George (Gina); his sister, Julia Piccione; eleven grandchildren, Francis (Kristina), Danielle (Deven), Brittany, Justin, Mark, Matthew, Martina, Mackenzie, Andrew, Sadie, and Max; and 1 great-grandchild, Hayden.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters, Sophia, Anthony, John, Albert (Cab), Mary, George, James, Donald Moses and Jane Beshero.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 11:15am for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00pm at the Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus site and officiated by his cousin, Fr. Nicholas Mastrangelo. Visitors are asked to adhere to state guidelines and are required to wear facial masks and practice social distancing. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct full military rites.

Burial will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.
