<p>Nancy J. Rosen Sawyer, 97 passed away the morning of September 1, 2019 in New Wilmington, Pa.</p><p><br></p><p>Nancy was born on February 19, 1922 in Staunton, Virginia to the late Harry and Ruth Reynolds Cook.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1944 she married Irwin Rosen who after more than fifty years of marriage preceded her in death. In 2002 she became the bride of J. Philip “Doc” Sawyer who preceded her in death in 2017.</p><p><br></p><p>Nancy was one of the first women to be licensed to sell securities by the New York, American and OTC stock exchanges. She retired from Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as V.P. of Investments. In her retirement she served as an arbitrator, hearing cases from the three exchanges.</p><p><br></p><p>Nancy had a sharp wit, a dry sense of humor and, in later life, a pension for brisk honesty. She loved good food, fresh strong coffee, chilled Grey Goose vodka, the perfectly played bridge hand, afternoon naps and a straight crisp golf shot. She was an avid reader and a member of the Jr. Guild at Jameson Hospital and ZONTA. Her favorite place was the New Castle Country Club, especially on Friday nights, where she adored seeing old friends and sorely missed those no longer present.</p><p><br></p><p>Nancy is survived by one daughter, Kim Rosen Case (Karyn Weiss) of East Hampton, NY, grandsons, Ross (Lynn Hodson) Case of Marshville, NC, Spencer (Rebecca Wolff) Case of Bethesda, Maryland, three great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends, all of whom brought great joy to her life, particularly her daughter and grandsons.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents and two husbands, Nancy was preceded in death by her four brothers, Fulton, John, Herbert, and Wesley Cook, and one sister, Margie Rishel.</p><p><br></p><p>Calling hours are private. Interment will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
