<p>Bernadine "Bella" Gillest, 79, of 807 Pollock Ave. died the afternoon of August 2, 2004, in Jameson Hospital. Born September 7, 1924, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Pietro and Theresa Toscano Santangelo. She married Lawrence "Tracy" Gillest on August 18, 1945. He survives. Mrs. Gillest enjoyed ceramics and cooking. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and its Christian Mothers. In addition to her husband, survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Kathleen and William Martin of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Theresa M. Gillest of South Pasadena, Calif., Bernadette and George Ross, and Laura L. Gillest, all of New Castle; a brother, Louis Santangelo of New Castle; a sister, Pauline DiThomas of Anaheim, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Bridget Budellazze, Margaret LaMarco and Clara Ballosteros; and three brothers, Michael Santangelo, Benjamin Santangelo and John Santangelo. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. August 4, 2004 at the Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday for St. Vitus Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoleum.</p>
