Darla Naidus, 61, of New Castle, passed away the morning of March 28, 2017 at VNA Inpatient Hospice. Born on October 5, 1955 in Kearny, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Jr. and Barbara Richards Meehan. Surviving is her husband, Fernando Cruz.

Darla had worked as a licensed practical nurse. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed reading and dancing. A nature lover, Darla also loved bird watching and feeding birds. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Darla is survived by his daughter, Loretta Cruz Craig and husband Terry of New Castle; brother, Joseph Meehan III of New Jersey; sisters, Jolette Meehan of Wayne, NJ, Nora Gallo of California, Meredith Marks of California, and Jamie Reid of Indiana; grandchildren, James Gamble, Alexander Cruz, and Victoria Leeds; and step-grandchildren, Brycen Craig and Trinity Craig. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Cruz.
