Helen S. LeLenko Obituary

Helen S. LeLenko, 96, formerly of Villa Maria Apartments, passed away the morning of May 14, 2017 at Assumption Village in North Lima, OH. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Fedoriska Stich. On June 9, 1942, she married her beloved husband, Theodore A. LeLenko, and the two of them spent 58 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on June 5, 2000.


Helen retired as a sales associate for Perelman’s and Kings Jewelry Stores. A devout member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, she was a past President of the Mary Martha Guild and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and she also served as a volunteer sacristan of the church for 25 years. Helen enjoyed tennis, basketball, horseback riding, and fishing with her husband. She will always be remembered as a gentle, loving, and faithful person.


Helen is survived by her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew and John Stich; and sisters, Mary Clark, Elizabeth Gasper, and Ann Stich.


Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00am to 10:15am at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home Thursday at 10:15am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, conducted by Father Norbert Campbell, retired pastor of St. Joseph the Worker Church.


Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery.
