John F. "Whitey" Havranek

<p>John F. "Whitey" Havranek, 79, of 3028 George St., New Castle, died the night of Sunday July 24, 2005 in Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born January 21, 1926 in Conway, Pa, a son of the late Aloise and Barbara Koutek Havranek. </p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Havranek married the former Mary Jane Spagnola on May 14, 1949. She survives. </p><p><br></p><p>John was a retired electrician with American Bridge Company of Ambridge, Pa. He served the company for 37 years. Mr. Havranek was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed his family, playing the accordian, and participating in senior citizens bowling leagues.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Havranek was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his wife, Mary Jane, survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Terrence Havranek &amp; Maria of the Phillipines, Thomas Havranek &amp; Mimi of Oil City, Timothy Havranek &amp; Margie of New Castle; one sister, Ann Fennych of Conway, Pa; and 7 grandchildren, Regina, Thomas, Treana, Theya, Bobby, Tommy, and Pamela.</p><p><br></p><p>John was preceded in death by a brother, Rudy Havranek.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2005 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 28, 2005 for St. Joseph the Worker Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Rev. Fr. Robert Schweitzer of St. Joseph will officiate.</p><p><br></p><p>Entombment will be in Parkside Mausoluem.</p>
