<p>Lawrence J. (Tracy) Gillest, 85, of 807 Pollock Avenue died the afternoon of Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in Jameson Memorial Hospital. He was born March 4, 1922 in New Castle, PA and was the son of the late Alfred and Catherine Pisano Gillest. He married the former Bernadine (Bella) Santangelo on August 18, 1945. She preceded him in death August 2, 2004.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Gillest was a retired supervisor of the aluminum department of Johnson Bronze Corp with 40 years of service. Following retirement, he worked as a machinist for Casalandra Metal Stamping.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a member of St. Vitus Church. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Cultural German Society. He was a golfing enthusiast, spending many years playing at Sylvan Heights Golf Course.</p><p><br></p><p>Lawrence is survived by four daughters Kathleen Martin &amp; husband William of Reynoldsburg, OH, Theresa M. Gillest of S. Pasadena, CA, Bernadette Ross &amp; husband George of New Castle, PA and Laura L. Gillest of New Castle, PA; four sisters Nettie Donofrio, Elvera Brown, Angeline Love and Loretta Zarilla all of New Castle, PA; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother Alfred Gillest.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitaiton will be Friday, July 20, 2007 from 2:00-4:00 PM and from 7:00-9:00 PM at the Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, Inc., located at 941 S. Mill Street, New Castle, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at St. Vitus Church. A procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 AM for the church. The Reverend Father Robert Zajdel will officiate.</p><p><br></p><p>Entombment will be in Parkside Cemetery Mausoleum.</p>
