T. Anthony Pionati, 92, of Union Township passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at his residence. Born on March 28, 1925, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Luigi and Beatrice Bruno Pionati.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, the former Charlotte Caravaggio, whom he married on April 26, 1947.

Anthony retired as a mechanic for the City of New Castle. Following retirement, he worked for Jameson Hospital as a currier. He was a member of St. Vitus Church. Anthony enjoyed working on cars, visiting Las Vegas, playing cards and watching football. He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father.

In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his daughter, Dr. Glory Pionati and husband, Regis Kimwanga, of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen George; and brothers, Orlando Sr., Albert, Ralph and Frank Pionati.

Private services were held at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Entombment took place in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
