Tamula R. Henderson, 54, of New Castle, passed away July 14, 2017 at her residence. Born on March 2, 1963 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Eula and Armelia Dixon Henderson.

A graduate of West Virginia University, Tammy had worked as a social worker and aid counselor for the YDC. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church. Tammy was a standout track star for New Castle High School and West Virginia University where she still holds the indoor record for the 55m dash and 300m dash.

In addition to her parents, Tammy is survived by her son, Daresse Henderson of New Castle; brother, Roger L. Henderson Sr. and wife Stacey of Atlanta, GA; sister, Claressia Leaks and husband Anthony of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Daria Henderson and Cherish Robinson; special friend, Chris Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Darien Henderson.

Visitation will be held Saturday 11:00am to 1:00pm at St. Paul Baptist Church, 616 W. North Street. Services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00pm at the church, officiated by Reverend Fletcher Hudson.

Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
