<p>A.Dale Shaffer, 95, of New Castle passed away the evening of June 4, 2019 at UPMC Jameson. </p><p><br></p><p>Born on September 16, 1923 in New Castle he was the son of the late Howard and Viola Johns Shaffer. </p><p><br></p><p>Preceding him in death on June 18, 2014 was his wife, the former Mary Lou Donley who he married on May 20, 1950. </p><p><br></p><p>Dale had worked for Flowline Corporation before he retired in 1984. </p><p><br></p><p>Dale had served his country in the U.S. Army. </p><p><br></p><p>He was a member of Gardner Chapel Assembly of God Church. Dale enjoyed hunting, listening to music, and camping in Tionesta. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, and liked going to Flea Markets and Garage Sales. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. </p><p><br></p><p>Dale is survived by his children, Lana Newton, Donna Iervoline and her husband Lawrence, Jacqueline Ferrari and her husband Richard all of New Castle, Bobbie Anderson and her husband Gary of Pulaski, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. </p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents and wife, Dale was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Donald Newton and three brothers, Randall, Cecil, and Denton Shaffer. </p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be Friday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St. </p><p><br></p><p>A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Darren Abraham will officiate. </p><p><br></p><p>The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform Military Rites on Saturday at the funeral home. </p><p><br></p><p>Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. </p>
