Carl M. Felix Obituary

Carl M. Felix, 94, of New Castle, passed away on March 14, 2019 at UPMC Mercy Hospital.


Born in New Castle on August 10, 1924 he was the son of the late Alphonso and Rachael L. D’Antonio Felix.


On July 30, 1955 he married his beloved wife, the former Rose A. Domenick who preceded him in death on August 21, 2010.


Carl had worked as a Core Maker for twenty eight years at the Crane Company until he retired. Carl was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. He had served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during WW II. Carl enjoyed working in his garden and listening to Big Band and Frank Sinatra music. Carl was an avid Yankees fan.


Carl is survived by his children, Carla Sperdute and her husband Howard, Rosanne Sperdute and her husband George, Rachel Kaufman and her husband Jeff, all of New Castle, and his sister, Martha Eberstadt of Downers Grove, IL, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.


In addition to his parents and wife, Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Irma Zduriencik and two step brothers, Raymond and Albert Felix.


Visitation will be on Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St.


A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Church at 10:00 a.m. Father Anthony Sciarappa will officiate.


Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
