Charles J. Faraone

Charles J. Faraone, Sr., 82, of New Castle, passed away peacefully at his residence on March 18, 2019.

Born on August 30, 1936 in New Castle he was the son of the late Joseph and Caroline “Lilly” Cappabianco Faraone.

On June 22, 1957 he married his beloved wife, the former Alice J. Mittler who preceded him in death on September 28, 2012.

Charles had worked as Manager for John’s Bargain Store in New Castle. Later he worked for City Welding and then Get-Go in Union Township.

Charles was a member of St. Vitus Church. He served his country as a Member of the United States Navy. In his love of singing and playing his trumpet, Charles also served as choir director for St. Vitus and St. Mary’s Churches, he was a member of the Red Coat Band and the Local Musicians Union. Charles enjoyed playing cards and vacationing with his family, but his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family and friends.

Charles is survived by his children, Leanne Colangelo and her husband Joseph of New Jersey, Charles J. Faraone, Jr. and his wife Carol of Ohio, Karen DeLorenzo, Kimberly Walker and her husband Frank Jr. of New Castle, his brother, Mark Faraone and his wife Joann of New Castle, ten grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Tonie L. Walker, Heather Regna Wise and one great granddaughter, Kamryn R. Colangelo.

Visitation will be on Friday 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 South Mill St.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vitus Church at 9:30 a.m. Father Anthony Sciarappa will officiate.

Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum.
