Jean Claude Lefebvre Scranton, Pennsylvania Obituary

Jean Claude Lefebvre

Jean Claude Lefebvre, 75, of Ransom Township, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Geisinger Community Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his dear wife of 52 years, the former Micheline Dumas. Also surviving are two daughters, Joanne Bird, of Clarks Summit, and Nancy Allan and her husband Joseph, of Exeter Township; two grandchildren, Katelynn Redel and her husband Thomas, of Ransom Township, Cameron Savage, of Factoryville; and two great-granddaughters, Chloe, and Hayley Redel. Born in Quebec, Canada, Jean was the son of the late Raoul Lefebvre and Blanche Gagnon. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Philomene Lefebvre, and Claire Lefebvre-Mireault, and survived by his brother Andre Lefebvre, all from Quebec, Canada. Prior to his retirement, Jean was employed at Gentex Corporation, Carbondale, as an Expert Technical Machinist, and after retirement he truly enjoyed working part-time at Northeastern Auto Auction, where all of his friends and co-workers fondly knew him as “Frenchie.” To the rest of us he was known as Dad or Pop Pop and he could always be found enjoying his favorite pastime chatting with his many friends of the Ham Radio Community. He enjoyed talking about old times and how the world has changed. He was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand and especially the time spent on family vacations in Ocean City, MD at the beach with his beloved family. Our hearts will forever be filled with all of his “special ways” and he had many, and a day won't go by that we won't miss or have heartfelt thoughts of him. A blessing service will be conducted on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave. Scranton. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, May 6 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
