Alice Kochenour

Alice E. (Nickelson) Kochenour, a resident of Brookview (Menno Haven), formerly of 310 Roxbury Road, Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Wednesday, August 21, 2019. She was born on February 16, 1934, in Washington County, Missouri, a daughter of the late Paul C. and Myrtle M. (Coleman) Nickelson and was a 1952 graduate of St. Francis deSales High School in St. Louis, Mo. Alice maried Robert E. Kochenour on April 7, 1956 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2018. Alice was a wonderful homemaker, loving spouse, and caring mother. She was very artistically inclined and enjoyed floral design, gardening, interior design, and was a great cook. Alice was a charter member of the Shippensburg Garden Club and a member of the Junior Civic Club of Shippensburg. Alice is survived by two sons, Mark E. Kochenour of Shippensburg and Chris A. Kochenour and wife Suzie of Shippensburg; two daughters, Lisa M. Gardner and husband Keith of Newburg and Dawn “Ellie” Clugh of Orrstown; 4 granddaughters, Lana Sweitzer, Jolie Boldin, Madaline Gardner, and Alicia Duhon; one sister, Bette Fuller of Bolivar, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Her graveside memorial service, at the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg, will be private. There will be no public viewing or visitation. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Garden Club.
