Audrey Eutzy

Audrey Pauline Eutzy, 83, of Silver Spring, MD, departed this life on the afternoon of Friday, September 6, 2019, at the Holy Cross Hospital. She was born on February 18, 1936, in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Walter W. and Edith P. (Sites) Martin. Audrey was a 1955 graduate of Shippensburg Senior High School. She married Carl E. Eutzy on December 9, 1956. Earlier in life, Audrey was employed at the former C & P Telephone Co., in Shippensburg. She and Carl moved to Maryland and she found work as a switchboard operator at the former United Press International in Washington, D.C., and then worked in sales and as a surveyor at the former Arbitron Co. Aside from working in the telephone industry, Audrey’s primary focus in life was as a homemaker; a wonderful spouse, mother, grandmother, & great grandmother. Over the years, she loved to visit with her family either in person or over the phone. Audrey was known to enjoy writing letters of encouragement to many of the members of her family. She was a member of the Silver Spring Church of Christ. In her free time, Audrey enjoyed drawing, crocheting, singing, yard sales, shopping (especially for jewelry), and also baking. Audrey enjoyed baking many wedding cakes for a lot of family members and friends throughout the years. In addition to her husband of sixty-three years, Carl, she is survived by her two children, Carolyn P. Taylor and husband Albert of Bogue, NC, and Jeffrey S. Eutzy and wife Rebecca of Silver Spring, MD; five grandchildren, A.J. Collins and wife Michelle of San Antonio, TX, Melissa Rettenmair and husband Ike of Newport, NC, Mallory Collins of Leland, NC, Kurtis Eutzy and wife Lindsey, and Shawna Reumont and husband Kevin, both of Silver Spring, MD; ten great grandchildren, Gabriel, Emersyn, Nora, Gwendolyn, Rylee, Kade, Karson, Raegan, Kenna, and Jace; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by one son, Carl E. Eutzy, Jr.; and four siblings, William Martin, Bertha Hutchinson, Mary Brill, and Ronald Martin. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, September 13, 2019, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Chase Byers will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg. Viewing will be Friday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
