Jay Beltz

Jay Stephen “Jaybird” Beltz, 62, a resident of the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, departed this life on the evening of Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He was born on September 14, 1954, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Raymond C. and D. Jean Nunnemaker Beltz, Sr. and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Jay once worked as a logger for Reasner Logging and as a dump truck driver for Goetz Construction. He enjoyed playing BINGO and coloring at the Village of Laurel Run and taking trips with his family to go shopping and out to eat, especially at the Golden Corral. He is survived by one brother, Raymond C. (Susan) Beltz, Jr. of Fayetteville; five sisters, Catherine L. ‘Susie” (Steven) Kauffman of Shippensburg, Patricia K. Beltz of Chambersburg, Tina Wagner of Tennessee, Tammy Beltz of Mechanicsburg, and Rebecca (Greg) Harbaugh of St. Thomas; sister-in-law, Delores Beltz of Delaware; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff L. Beltz. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Chaplain John Morrill will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the Mongul Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
