John Sites

John E. Sites, 67, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born on February 18, 1950, in Mifflin, the son of the late Alice Mildred Sites. John worked in construction, as a carpenter for most of his life. Most recently, he worked as a cabinet maker. In the past, he had worked for Kirby’s Construction. He was a member of the Hub City Club, Minnequa Social Club, and Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223. John enjoyed sitting on his porch and conversing with the folks who would pass by and stop to visit. John is survived by his daughter, Missy Foster (Clayton) Ray of Malvern, AR; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Sikes, Austin Ray, and Jessica Ray; his sister, Donna Rae Swartz of Shippensburg, Niece, Debra Cordell of Chambersburg; nephew, Rodney Eugene (Angel) Sites of Shippensburg, and their four children, Max-Elias, Casey, Kayla, and Kya; many other nieces and nephews; and his pet bird, a cockatiel named, Baby, who John loved and cared for very much. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice and his longtime companion Needy Divens. John’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or service. Interment will be private.
