Miriam Hockenberry

Miriam L. Hockenberry, 91, of Orrstown, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital. She was born February 22, 1926 in Upper Strasburg, PA. Miriam was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel Diehl West. She was a member of the Unity in Christ Church, Chambersburg. Miriam retired from both the Letterkenny Army Depot and Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by five children, Donna L. Deihl, Nedra J. Ryder and G. Eugene (Peggy) Hockenberry all of Orrstown, Wanda K. Edwards of Gettysburg and Yvonne E. (Daniel) Swank of Chambersburg, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey M. Hockenberry who passed away July 23, 2003. One brother, Thomas West and one sister, Gladys Brown are also deceased. Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 23, 2017 in the Unity in Christ Church, Chambersburg at 4 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Lois Waters. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Unity in Christ Church, 4301 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
