Raymond J. Halter, Jr., 95, of Shippensburg, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Falling Spring Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg. He was born September 15, 1923 in Newburg. Raymond was a son of the late Raymond J., Sr. and Carrie Helmerton Halter. Raymond worked at the Penn Pants Factory in Shippensburg for over 45 years. He was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, Shippensburg. Raymond was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Shippensburg. He is survived by one son, Richard L. Halter of Shippensburg; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one brother, Calvin W. Halter of Shippensburg; and one sister, Betty Ann (Gene) Rhodes of Shippensburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Doris L. Frohm Halter who passed away March 21, 2007. One son, Rodney L. Halter; one grandson, Eric Halter; two brothers; and three sisters are also deceased. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be held in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home Thursday morning.
