Robert S. Russell, 68, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at home. He was born October 18, 1948 in Shippensburg. Robert was a son of the late Wayne and Olive George Russell. He was a United States Army National Guard Veteran of the Vietnam War. Robert retired from the former C.H. Masland and Sons / Lear Corp., Carlisle. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and Penn State Football. Robert was a PIAA basketball referee and coached basketball in the Shippensburg area. He was a 1968 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior School and the Thompson Institute. Robert attended the Shippensburg First Assembly of God Church. Robert is survived by his wife Linda M. Burkholder Russell, two sons, Shawn A. Russell of Philadelphia and Matthew S. Russell of Shippensburg, one brother, Gary Russell of St. Thomas and four sisters, Mary Kohler of Fayetteville, Renee Russell of Pittsburgh, Darlene Furry of Delaware and Debbie Mackling of Chambersburg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg with The Rev. Daniel Cluck officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
