Violet Meily

Violet L. Meily, 92, a resident of Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle, formerly of West Main Street, Walnut Bottom, died Thursday, September 13, 2012 in the Center. Born February 24, 1920 in Shade Gap, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Cambridge and Myrtle Locke Snyder. Years ago Violet was a member of Prince Street United Brethren Church in Shippensburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Meily, Jr. who died November 29, 1980. Two brothers and three sisters are also deceased. Violet is survived by one son, Richard C. Meily and his wife Margie of Shippensburg, three daughters, Edna Grace Hoffman and her husband Jack of Three Springs, Connie High of Chambersburg, and Shelby Shaffer of Shippensburg, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 12 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. John G. Pogue.
