Wilbur Shenk

Wilbur L. Shenk, Jr., 70, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born Thursday, March 31, 1949, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Wilbur L. Shenk, Sr.and Lois M. Flory Shenk. Wilbur worked at Hoffman Mills from 1966, until the time they closed in 2005, and later retired in 2015, from Weiss Market in Shippensburg. He was a SAL member and past Commander of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, he was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, and the Minnequa Social Club, all in Shippensburg. Wilbur loved riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of seven years, Sandra Shearer Shenk, who he married May 17, 2012; two daughters, Traci L. Hannah and LoriAnn M. (David) Jones; one sister, Sandra Rauber, all of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Chelsi Yurko, John “JD” Yurko, Jordin Shives, and Brett Jones; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Pastor Jeff McCracken officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd, Rockville MD 20852, or www.kidneyfund.org.
