Anne Stanger Warrington Obituary

Anne Stanger

Anne Stanger died early Sunday morning, November 2, 2014 amongst family, friends, and a host of caring staff at the Pine Run Lakeview Personal Care Center in Doylestown, PA. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a dedicated activist, she was born in 1925 as Anna Norton, to her parents Leo and Anna Norton in Camden NJ, she lived a life full of family, community work, and travel, inspiring unsolicited acts of kindness throughout. Anne was first married to Irvin (Zabo) Koszewski (5 years) and then Walter Stanger (55 years). She is survived by her four daughters Nancy Pyle (Billy Joe Pyle Jr.), Wendy Whitesell (Dennis Whitesell), Holly Copeland (Ron Copeland), and Amy Stanger-Mercado; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Pyle, Billy Joe Pyle III, Corey, Benjamin, & Rachel Whitesell, Alexander & Juliette Copeland, Adam Seewald, and Dylan Mercado; and five great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Christopher Whitesell, and Wren, Scarlett, and Madison Pyle. Anne’s work spanned a variety of fields working in the 1940-50’s at RCA and at Thiokol in the early 60’s. In the 70’s she was a teacher’s aide and on the school board for the Neshaminy School District. In the 80’s she was Property Manager of Emerald Lake and Stillwater Estates in the Poconos, and owner of Anne’s Antiques in Mt. Pocono. She also traveled throughout the U.S. and Caribbean Islands. She enjoyed sewing and quilting, all forms of art, bingo, cutthroat card games, tennis, golfing, sailing, skiing, Penn State football, and political debate. She was very involved in the Democratic Party, volunteering as an Election Day Poll Worker. As Anne would say (and her family will agree) if you haven’t voted yet, put down the newspaper and get to your polling site immediately! On Thursday, November 6th the family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 followed by a service at 3:00pm at Shelly Funeral Home Easton and Keller’s Church Road. Memorial contributions can be made to the Activities Center at Pine Run Lakeview Personal Care Center in Doylestown at 2425 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA where Anne enjoyed her daily activities so much.
