Anthony Onkow

Anthony Onkow, a resident of Warrington, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Neshaminy Manor. He was 87. He was the loving husband of Dorothy E. Onkow. They had been married 64 years. Born in Stoney Point, Pa., he was a son of the late Dorof and Olga Onkow. For more than 30 years, Anthony was a State Farm Insurance agent in Warrington. He was proud to have served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Serving in the European Theater, Anthony fought at the Battle of the Bulge. Anthony enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, and in his younger days, he enjoyed playing softball and bowling. He also enjoyed working in his gardens. In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by a son, Robert Onkow (Lynne), and two daughters, Christine Bartells (Bob) and Nancy Sullivan (Doug). He also is survived by five grandchildren, Tracy Palmer, Lindsay Sullivan, Nicholas Onkow, Alexander Onkow and Vanessa Onkow; two great-grandchildren, Sullivan C. Palmer and Ansley Palmer; and a niece, Sonia Johnson. Anthony's funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the chapel in Beulah Cemetery, 238 Almshouse Road, New Britain, where the family will receive friends after 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the service in Beulah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Doylestown Hospice, c/o Development Office, 595 W.
