Charles Z.K. Kinney Obituary

Charles Z. Klauder Kinney died December 23 2015 at home surrounded by loving family and friends.

Charles was born June 6, 1925 in Jamison, Pa the son of Arthur George Kinney Sr. and Rhoda Miller Kinney. Charles was preceded in death by his brother Arthur G. Kinney Jr., in 1962.

Charles served in the Army during WWII from November 1943 to November 1945.

Charles fought in the D-Day invasion at Normandy Beach and proceeded on to the

Black Forest of Germany where he was wounded in November 1944. He spent the next year in the hospital having 18 surgeries. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Following the war Charles married his school time sweet heart Dorothy Price. They were married for 68 years.

Charles and Dorothy opened bakery in Newtown which they

owned for 2 years before he decided on a carrier in banking. Charles retired from PNC bank after 40 years.

Charles was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Danboro for 38 years where he served many terms as elder and deacon and was the church treasurer for 37 years. He reluctantly gave up the treasurer position this past August as his health began to fail.

Charles was also very proud of the memorial garden he created at the church.

Charles was a member of the American Legion post #210 for 65 years. He was a former member of the Central Bucks Senior Center for 20 years, where he served as trip coordinator.

Charles enjoyed traveling and had taken 13 cruises. He had a lot of interest and hobbies including baking, crafts and most of all gardening. Charles continued to make wonderful wedding cakes people as well as holiday and birthday cakes for family and

friends.

Charles his survived by his wife Dorothy, his 2 sons Kevin and his daughter Lillian, and

Scott, and his children Valerie and Kyle.


A memorial service and internment will be announced at a later date.
