Colleen Cook Obituary

Colleen R. Cook, aged 71, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2017 at the Pine Run Health Center. She has been a resident of Doylestown for the past 39 years. Colleen was the loving wife of the late Gene P. Cook. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Colleen was a daughter of the late Vito and Rose Maiorano. Colleen was active with the VIA of Doylestown, the Peace and Justice League and was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Colleen is survived by a daughter Shannon Marr, son in law Greg Marr, daughter in law Heather Cook Kase, 5 grandchildren Jack, Madeleine, Henry, Braedon and Conor, along with her brother James Maiorano. Colleen was preceded in death by her son John P. Cook, her husband Gene P. Cook and sisters Grace Husslein and Carmella Gililand . Colleen thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. She was the epitome of what it meant to be a mother, wife and a grandmother. She gave all of herself to her family. Colleen also spent a lot of her life giving back to others in need and to her community. As a member of the VIA of Doylestown and the Peace and Justice League she truly made a difference in this world. Her legacy will continue on through the work of those organizations. Colleen’s Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 235 E. State St, Doylestown where the family will receive friends after 10:00 am until the time of mass. Interment will follow in Doylestown Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Doylestown Village Improvement Association, 595 W State St, Doylestown, PA 18901 or to the St. Francis Inn Ministries, PO Box 3746, Philadelphia, PA 19125
