Diane J. Whitman, a resident of New Hope for the past 25 years, passed away on April 16, 2016 at the Chandler Hall Hospice, Newtown. She was 70. Diane was passionate about exploring life and found joy in loving her family and friends. Her positive spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Diane was the wife of the late Merritt Whitman with whom she enjoyed traveling the world. Born in Babylon, NY, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Helen Jacelon. Diane enjoyed teaching kindergarten for many years in Trenton, NJ. She was preceded in death by a daughter Melissa Greiner. She is survived by 2 daughters, Christina Leighton and Tiffani Borota (Michael), a step-daughter Pamela Whitman, a step-son Brook Whitman (Sandy), a son-in-law Joe Greiner and 6 grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Charles Jacelon and a sister Cynthia Jacelon. Diane’s family will receive friends 6-8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nature Conservancy.
