Earl Houck Obituary

Earl Houck, a resident of Ottsville for the past 10 years, formerly of Newportville, Bucks County, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013 at the Pine Run Health Center. He was 80. Earl was the husband of the late Winnie (McCurdy) Houck. Born in Philadelphia, Earl was a son of the late Barton and Jennie Houck. Earl was proud to have served with the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 542. Earl’s life centered on his family. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Delaware Valley Fish and Game Association. Earl is survived by a son Andrew and his wife Louise, a daughter Helen, 3 grandchildren, Rachel, Josh and Andrea and a great grandson Keiran. He is also survived by a brother George and 2 sisters, Kate and Joyce. Earl was preceded in death by a brother Barton and sisters Eleanor, Hazel and Dolly. Earl’s funeral service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Shelly Funeral Home, Easton and Kellers Church roads, Plumsteadville, where the family will receive friends after 9 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville.
