Frederick Betz of Albrightsville since 1995, formerly of
Ottsville, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Weatherwood Nursing
and Rehabilitation in Weatherly, Pa. He was 76
Born in Philadelphia, Frederick was a son of the late William
Fritz Betz and Rose (Groeber) Betz.
He was proud to have served with the U.S. Army.
Retiring in 1993, Frederick was employed as a warehouse manager
with Zink and Trieste. He began his working career as a baker with the
family bakery in Philadelphia and later worked at the Hornberger's
Bakery in Doylestown. He then was employed as a police officer with
Tinicum Township
Frederick was a member of the Phoenix Club and the Almont Rod
and Gun club.
He is survived by two sons, Frederick Jr. and Robert (Charleen);
a daughter, Anita Kozak (Peter) and their mother, Hannelore Betz. He is
also survived by six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a brother,
George Betz (Barbara), sister-in-law, Helen Betz, and several nieces and
nephews.
Frederick was preceded in death by a brother, William.
Frederick's memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June
1 at the Shelly Funeral Home, Easton and Keller's Church roads,
Plumsteadville, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until
the time of service.
