Harry John Wilkinson of Doylestown, Pennsylvania and Fort Myers, Florida, passed away at his home in Doylestown on Sunday, October 29th. He was 79 years old. Harry was the loving husband of Janis Wilkinson. Born in Glenside, Pennsylvania, Harry was a son of the late Frank and Annie Wilkinson. Harry served three years in the US Army as a member of the 82nd Airborne. He had degrees from both Pennsylvania State University and Temple University. Harry’s entire professional career was spent at SPS Technologies in many capacities, including five years as Managing Director of the European Division. He retired in 1997 as President and Chief Operating Officer of the company. After retirement Harry continued to serve on the SPS board of directors as well as being a highly respected member of multiple philanthropic and business executive boards. Harry had many interests outside of his professional career. He was an avid fisherman, boater, golfer, tennis and baseball player, pilot, and antique English sports car enthusiast. He spent many hours restoring his cars and his Aronca Champ airplane. Harry also enjoyed his years with family and friends on Lake Wallenpaupack. He was an active member of both Doylestown Country Club and Fiddlesticks Country Club. He served in multiple board positions in both clubs. He was a member of Pine Valley Country Club for many years. In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by his children, Tracey Lyn Wilkinson, Todd Douglas Wilkinson and his fiancé Kelly Salettel and Betsey Wilkinson Shanahan and her husband Liam Michael Shanahan. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Zoe, Kate and Jack and several loving cousins and their families. Relatives and friends are invited to Harry’s memorial service 11:00 am Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E Court St, Doylestown, PA 18901 where the family will receive friends after 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Doylestown Presbyterian Church at the address above.
