Hon. Ward F. Clark, a resident of Jamison for the past 11 years, and a longtime resident of Doylestown, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010, at Doylestown Hospital. He was 82. He was the loving husband of Jonnye T. Clark. They were married in January of 1979 Born in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, Judge Clark was a son of the late Frank and Alice Clark. Ward graduated from Penn State University and obtained his law degree from University of Pennsylvania Law School. Judge Clark began his career in law with the Carl Lindsay Law Firm and later was a partner with Pratt Clark Gathright and Brett Law Firm. Later in his career, Ward was the Bucks County Comptroller as well as the Bucks County District Attorney before being appointed Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in 1985. Ward finished his career holding the position of Senior Judge in Bucks County which he acquired at the age of 70. Ward was an avid golfer and an active member of the Doylestown Country Club. Until his passing, he held an adult membership at Doylestown Country Club for longer than any living member which began in 1958. In addition to his wife, Ward is survived by three sons, Ward F. Jr., Robert L. and Stephen M.; and four daughters, Amy Wilcox, Beth Mulford, Stephanie Rodeno and Ashley Rios. He also is survived by his 9 grandchildren, Rebecca, Kelly, Jack, Lindsay, Katie, Evan, Logan, Spencer and Owen. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Adams. A celebration of Ward's life, followed by a reception, will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at the Doylestown Country Club, 20 Country Club Lane, Doylestown. The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:30 a.m. at the club. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ward's name may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 1626 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
