Irvin "Bud" Slight Jr. of Walton, N.Y., passed away Saturday, July 4, 2009, at home following a long illness. He was 80. Bud was born in Philadelphia, on Dec. 3, 1928, the son of the late Irvin Sr. and Mary (Ambler) Slight. He was owner/president of Slight Bros. Inc., of Elkins Park, as a master plumber. Bud was a very friendly man with a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and baseball. He was a former member of the Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church and the W.K. Bray Lodge 410 Free and Accepted Masons, Hatboro. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army during the Korean War. Bud is survived by three sons, Steve Slight, Allen Slight (Kathy) and Rob Slight (Elsa); daughter Patti; grandchildren Derek, Allison, Kaitlyn, Laura, Leigh (Chris) Erin and Dillon; great-grandson Aiden; sisters Ginny Snyder and Mary Rubin; brother Bill Slight; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also is survived by his dear friends, the Boye family of Walton. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Road, Hartsville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville. Memorial contributions in Bud's name may be made to Catskill Area Hospice, Reformed Presbyterian Church, Walton or Warrington Athletic Association, Mr. Todd Reimert, Warrington Baseball Treasurer, 3129 Fox Drive Chalfont, PA 18914-3735.
