Jean Marino Obituary

Jean H. Marino born 1-1-1931 in Philadelphia married to John Marino for nearly 50 years (50th Anniversary 5-3-18) 3 children Robert, Kathy and Susan then adopted Rosemary at age 19 into her family 4 married grandchildren 12 Great-grandchildren She loved her family and friends fiercely with a generous spirit. She was a strong woman who would do anything for anyone who needed her. She led by example to all around her, shaping many lives. As a young girl her Grandmother who she loved dearly raised her in the Lutheran Church. She loved taking care of and riding horses. Later when living in Hatboro she was a Sunday School Teacher at Hatboro Lutheran Church, participated in the PTA, Boys Scouts, and the local politics until moving to Southampton. She worked as a telephone operator at Abington Hospital, then as a school bus driver, but most importantly she was a wife to John, a Mom to many, Mom-Mom to her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Aunt, and a great friend to anyone lucky enough to have known her. As an only child she had a best friend Barbara, who was like her sister for close to 70 years. Mom and Dad traveled whenever possible from up and down the East Coast to the West Coast and Canada. Living in Italy for three years was a highlight of their travels where they visited countries throughout Europe and The Middle East with their trip to Israel as the most inspiring trip. She loved to read books and cook. Anyone who was on the receiving end of her cooking knows how delicious her meals were. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family from hosting backyard swim parties, birthday parties, holidays and then finally in the last few years to watching as the next generation took over still enjoying the gatherings. She always had everyone’s best interest in her mind and her very large heart giving us advice and love to the end.
