Margaret Brun Obituary

Margaret S. 'Peggy' Brun, a resident of Horsham since 1961, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was 81. Margaret was the loving wife of Ernest Brun. Born in Philadelphia, Margaret was a daughter of the late George Ramsey and Mary Ramsey Holmes. Margaret was a longtime employee of Upper Dublin High School where she worked in the cafeteria. Later, Margaret worked for six years as a clerical assistant with Ambler Laboratories. She was a homemaker to her husband, Ernest, whom she loved very much. Margaret enjoyed watching her son, and then her grandson, play football. She never missed a game. Margaret loved her grandchildren and they were an important part of her life. She also was an avid oil painter Margaret was a longtime and active member of the Supplee Presbyterian Church, Maple Glen, where she served as deacon and taught Sunday school. In addition to her husband, Margaret is survived by a son, James E. Brun and his wife, Linda, of Warrington; two daughters, Nancy J. Brun and Patricia Miller, both of Chalfont; and three grandchildren, Lindsey (Aaron), Shawn (Christina) and Ryan. Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Holmes; two sisters, Elizabeth Nicols and Georgina Donofry; and several nieces and nephews. Margaret's funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
