Mary Sue Allen Adams, a longtime resident of Plymouth Meeting, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2009. She was 86. She was the wife of the late Arland A. Adams. Born in Strasburg, Va., she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Allen. Mary Sue completed her undergraduate education at James Madison University and obtained her nursing degree at the Medical College of Virginia. An accomplished nurse and compassionate care giver, Mary Sue was employed by the Visiting Nurses Association of Norristown and also worked at Cathedral Village as a registered nurse. She will always be loved by family, friends and coworkers. She was a member of Plymouth Valley Community Church, Plymouth Meeting Pa. Mary Sue loved animals, and enjoyed bird watching and gardening. A kind and beloved mother, Mary Sue is survived by four children, Mary A. Adams and her husband, Douglas Bitetto of Edwards, Colo., Sue A. Currier of Seattle, Wash., Cheryl A. Boone and her husband, Charles, of Ottsville and Arland A. Adams Jr. of Elverson, Pa. She was a grandmother of nine. Mary Sue's graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at Shelly Funeral Home, Easton and Keller's Church Roads, Plumsteadville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brookline Labrador Retriever Rescue, P.O. Box 638, Warrington, PA 18976.
