Robert Murphy

Robert Edward Murphy, a resident of Warrington since 1966, passed away on Friday, November 08, 2013 at the Doylestown Hospital. He was 84. Robert was the loving husband for 53 years to Helen Jane Murphy. Born in Philadelphia, Robert was the son of the late Daniel and Pearl Murphy. Robert, a recipient of the Purple Heart, proudly served with the US Army during the Korean War. He also was a charter member of the WWII memorial in Washington DC. From 1989 to 2007, Robert was the owner and operator of the Spin-A-Round Skating Center, Line Lexington and was a member of the Roller Skating Operators Association. He was also a member of the Society of Roller Skating Teachers Association and for 20 years was the assistant director of roller skating with the Special Olympics. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his sister-in-law Margaret Curtis and her husband George. Robert was preceded in death by a brother Daniel. A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service.
