Sallie Chesnut Obituary

Sallie B. Chesnut, a resident of Warwick Township for the past 26 years, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at Doylestown Hospital. She was 77 She was the loving wife of Robert Chesnut. Born in Akron, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Marie Louise and William Boone Pennebaker Sr. Sallie graduated from Hatboro High School in 1950 and attended Hood College, Frederick, Md., in 1954. In the past, Sallie was employed with Council Rock School District educating children with special needs. She was a member of Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church and truly loved her church where she was involved in many activities and clubs. She was a talented artist and also enjoyed cooking and baking. In addition to her husband, Sallie is survived by two sons, John Byron Bechtel III and his wife, Barbara, and William Jeffery Bechtel and his wife, Alle; two daughters, Deborah Martin and her husband, George, and Susanna Boehs and her husband, Donald. She also is survived by six grandchildren, Tina, Freddie, Beckie, Julie, Liam and Aaron; and a brother William Boone Pennebaker Jr. Sallie's funeral service will be at noon Thursday, April 8, at Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church, 1401 Meetinghouse Road, Warminster, PA 18974 Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Thursday until the service time at the church. Interment will follow in the Neshaminy Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Church at the above address or to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
