Salvatore A. Boccella, Jr., a resident of Hatboro for the past 48 years, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at his residence. He was 77. Sal was the loving husband of Kathleen (Walsh) Boccella. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Germantown, Salvatore was a son of the late Mary and Salvatore Boccella, Sr. For 30 years, Salvatore was the owner and operator of Sal’s Steaks and Pizza of Warrington and the Plymouth Meeting Mall. Sal was a hard and dedicated worker who loved his family. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time in Ocean City, New Jersey. In addition to his wife, Sal is survived by 4 sons, Salvatore III (Janice), Michael (Maureen), Stephen (Katie) and Kevin (Kristi) and a daughter Katie Thomas (Andy). He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, Caitlin, Samantha, Salvatore IV, Meghan, Nicholas, Mary Kate, Matthew, Sarah, Jimmy, Julia, Kevin and Olivia. Sal was preceded in death by a brother John and a sister Agnes Jester. Relatives and friends are invited to Salvatore’s Funeral Mass, 11:00 am Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Easton and County Line Roads, Warrington. The family will receive friends 5-8:00 pm Tuesday at the Shelly Funeral Home, 1460 Easton Road, Warrington and 9-10:30 am Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery.
