Stella Walis Obituary

Stella Walis, a resident of Warrington for the past 28 years, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at the Neshaminy Manor. She was 93. Stella was the wife of the late Charles Walis. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Nicetown, Stella was a member of the Ukrainian Girls Association, Nicetown. Stella was a daughter of the late Yakim and Anna Dydiuk. Stella was employed by and retired from Vick Chemical Co. of Philadelphia and Hatboro. Stella was an active member of St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, Warrington where she participated in pierogi making and was a Bingo worker. Stella enjoyed Bingo and was known to play seven days a week. She also enjoyed spending time at the casinos. Stella is survived by a daughter, Karen Wiley and her husband, W. Ken of Warrington; two grandchildren: Kim Egner and Russell Wiley and four great-grandchildren: Thomas, James, Charles and Evan. Stella was preceded in death by a sister, Kasia Crowley. Stella's Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1545 Easton Road, Warrington, PA 18976. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Abington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anne Church at the address above.
