Walter Binasiewicz

Walter A. Binasiewicz died Monday, July 11, 2011, at Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown. He was 80. He was the husband of Catherine M. Binasiewicz. Born in Reading on Feb. 27, 1931, Walter was the son of the late Walter B. and Theresa (Piehl) Binasiewicz. Walter was raised at St. Mary's Home in Ambler, Pa., and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia. He was a U.S. Army veteran with the rank of Sergeant of the Korean War. He graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration and was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Rho Honorary Societies. He was a certified public accountant who retired from Atochem in 1992. Walter was one of the charter members of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Warrington, and one of the founding members of the Philadelphia Wine Tasting Society. He was a loving, gentle, and kind man with many talents and interests, including painting, woodworking, wine and beer making and tasting, investment analysis, the Philadelphia Flyers and his four grandchildren: Stephanie (David), Stacey, Jonathan (Charlotte), and Stephen. In addition to his wife and grandchildren, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Jean (Alan), and Sue Kern (Rev. Robert). He was preceded in death by his brother John J. Bennett. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 856 Euclid Ave., Warrington, with the Rev. Msgr. Biesel as Celebrant. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will follow the Mass at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
