GySgt Hubert Martin

GySgt Hubert “Bert” Martin, Jr., 92, of Albany, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate with interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the United States Marine Corps. Born June 2, 1925 in Whitney, TX, Mr. Martin was the son of the late Hubert Howard Martin, Sr. and Ida Phoebe Womack Martin. He retired from the United States Marine Corps and also retired from the Marine Logistics Base of Albany. He loved his family and was an avid bowler. He was inducted into the Albany Bowling Hall of Fame and was on the board of directors for the Albany Bowling Association. He also participated in the National Bowling tournament for over 25 years. He was of the Christian faith. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Lisa Martin of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Louella Calhoun of Albany; daughter-in-law, Donna Martin of Fort Worth, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Odell and Betty Martin of Burleson, TX; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Monday evening at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Hall and Hall Funeral Home 229/883-3864
