Judith Bunn Warren, Rhode Island Obituary

Judith Bunn

Judith Ann Bunn, 73, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 while residing at Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Providence, RI. She was under the care of Hospice of RI at Elmhurst only 3 days prior to passing due to congestive heart failure complicated by chronic, life-long lymphedema. She was also a proud breast cancer survivor. Judy was an only child born in Washington, D.C. (now the suburb of Silver Springs, MD) on June 28, 1944 to her late parents Estelle Althera (Richards) Bunn (1913-1984 Pecos, TX) and Curtis St. Claire Bunn (1903-1987 Ossian, IN, USN and US Army). As a Navy wife, Judy traveled across the country with her military family and in 1981 relocated with her three sons to beautiful Longmont, Colorado for 24 years. In 2005, she then moved to Narragansett, RI to help in her son’s family business working with children and education. This happily allowed her to see her three sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren (who were her light and joy) much more often. Judy is survived by her three sons: Kevin Todd Smith and wife Pamela Emma (Rice) Smith of Colorado, Andrew Dean Smith and his wife Kimberly Ann (Ross) Smith of Maryland, and Matthew David Smith and wife Leigh Ayn (Rogers) Smith of Florida. She is also survived by her 5 amazing grandchildren: Todd and Vaughn Smith, Josh Jenkins, and Ethan and Sophia Smith who loved their Nana dearly. Judy was a woman with an open heart and hugs for many. She loved her dogs and many cats she was blessed to have over the years. Her ability to spread love and comfort through her voice was a gift to all who knew her. Judy will be greatly missed though we know she is lovingly with her Creator and family once again. We’d like to extend thank you’s to all at Elmhurst Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Providence, RI who have helped care for Judy and held a special place in her heart these past 6+ years. Special thanks to Heather Siravo, Social Worker. We’d also like to thank Hospice of RI who gave Judy peace and comfort in the days prior to her passing. And thank you to Bob at Family’s Choice Cremation in Warren, RI for the help and guidance you have given to Judy’s family during these times.
