Manuel Fernandes Ribeiro

Bristol – Manuel F. Ribeiro, Jr., 95 of Bristol, died Friday, September 13, 2019 at the Rhode Island Veterans Home, Bristol. He was the husband of the late Rita (Langlois) Ribeiro. Manuel was born in Bristol a son of the late Manuel F. Ribeiro, Sr. and Mary (Sousa) Ribeiro. He was the Manager for the Sunset Bakery in Bristol, for many years. Manuel was a US Army veteran serving in WWII who fought at Battle of the Buldge, he was with Military Police Platoon 11th Armored Division. He was a lifelong Bristol resident, and a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church. Manuel was a member of the VFW, the Holy Name Society at St. Elizabeth, and also a member of the Fisherman’s Club Swanee River. He is survived by his son Manuel F. Ribeiro III and his wife Debbie of Johnston, RI. Mr. Ribeiro was the grandfather of 3 granddaughters, and 1 great granddaughter. He was the father of the late Stephen Ribeiro, and the late Frederick Ribeiro. He was the brother of the late Anthony Ribeiro, and Olga Lewis. Manuel , was buried privately in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Arrangements entrusted to the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, Warren. www.wjsmithfh.com
