Karsch, Roberta Boss, “Grammie Turtle”, 87, of Bristol died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence a daughter of the late Ellery A. and M. Leona (Bride) Boss. She was a senior head teller for RI Hospital Trust National Bank before retiring in the early eighties. She had also worked at the Providence Worcester Railroad, the former Cranston Ostheopathic Hospital in Cranston, EG &G Sealol Engineered Products, and was an Avon Representative for over 50 years. She had lived in Germany and traveled extensively throughout Europe for many years. Memberships and volunteerism included being a 64 year memeber of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority where she was the 1st member in the area to receive a Masters Degree. She belonged for many years to the Laureate Alpha Chapter in Warwick and most recently in the Preceptor Beta Chapter in Providence; Past President of The Red Hat Society; Barrington Senior Center; The Willows; King Phillip Little League; Cub Scout Pack 6 Bristol; Warwick Troop 186 Girl Scouts of RI, Rosary & Altar Society; Daughters of Isabella; and the Eastern Star; The Audubon Society and the International Association of Turtles. Beloved mother of Alecia Schubert of Bristol, Ct, Judi Karsch of Pittsfield, NH and Robert P. Karsch of Bristol, RI. Sister of Alcy Neidlinger of Spring, TX and the late Regina Roux. Loving grandmother of Kendra Dull, Darci Connor, Kristine Suchinski, Tanya Karsch, Erik Schubert, Peter Karsch, and Ryan Connor. Great grandmother of Joseph Brooker IV and Renee Singleton and affectionately known to many as "Grammie Turtle". Arrangements are with Smith Funeral & Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren where family will receive friends Friday July 2nd, 4-8pm. Funeral Saturday, July 3rd, 9am from the funeral home, 10am in St Mary’s Church, Wood St., Bristol. Burial will be in St Ann’s Cemetery.
