Esther O'Neill

Esther (Turco) O’Neill, 90, of Pawcatuck, passed away on March 14, 2018. She was the beloved wife for 63 years to Arthur J. O’Neill who predeceased her. Esther was born in Westerly, the daughter of the late Natale and Rosina Turco. She was a Westerly High School graduate class of 1945 and a graduate of Bryant College, Providence, Rhode Island. Esther’s joy in life was the love of her family, faith and her amazing friends. Her infectious smile and positive attitude radiated her loving kindness for all. She was a devoted parishioner and communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Esther worked and retired from Chelsea Savings Bank in Pawcatuck. She leaves her five children, John and Vincent O’Neill, both of Pawcatuck, Elinor Skoog of Andover, CT, Teresa DeDominicis (Dom) of Stonington and Carol Brindle (Phil) of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Claire Peduzzi; daughter-in-law Patricia O’Neill; and sisters-in-law, Agnes Nardone and Laverne Turco. Esther was predeceased by her son Kevin O’Neill, sister Margaret Gomes, brother Vincent Turco and son-in-law Pete Skoog. Visiting hours are omitted. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday at 10a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main St., Stonington. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Michael Capital Campaign, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck, CT 06379 in Esther’s memory.
