Esther Grills Ruisi, 83, of Westerly, RI passed away on Tuesday night, March 28th, at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence, RI. She was the beloved wife of Francis “Frank” Ruisi. Born in Pawcatuck, CT, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Grills. A Graduate of Stonington High School class of 1957. Esther worked as a Dental Assistant for five years with Doctor Capalbo Sr. As well as, her six years with the Westerly Gas Company. In addition to her husband, Esther leaves behind her daughters, Mary Beth Taylor and her husband Steven, of Phoenix, AZ and Julie Ruisi and longtime boyfriend Robert Rofrano, of Westerly; her sister Helen (Joseph) Nigrelli of Westerly and her brother David (Rosemarie) Grills also survive Esther. She has three wonderful grandchildren, Hillary and Fiancé Claudio Bravo, of Tucson, AZ, Robert and Madelyn Taylor, of Phoenix, AZ. She was predeceased by her siblings, Harry, Johnny, Sammy and Angelo Grills, Margaret Abate, Josephine Lima and Sarah Ferendo. Esther lived a life full of happy memories. She looked forward to girl-time with her daughters, boasting about the accomplishments of her grandchildren; Friday lunches with her sisters and friends, family time during the holidays, “Ruisi Lobster Fest” and the annual 4th of July picnic. She loved laughing at her husband’s old jokes and being endlessly teased by him. Most of all, she treasured the unconditional love she received, every day, from her soulmate, Frank. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Apr. 7, from 4-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Apr. 8, at 10am at St. Clare Church, Crandall Ave., Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Clare Church, 4 Saint Clare Way, Westerly, RI 02891 in Esther’s memory.
