Jenarita Aldrich Obituary

Jenarita “Jerri” F. Aldrich, 81, passed away in Florida on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Born in Worcester, MA. Jerri has left her impact of life in several places, such as, Pawtucket RI, Germany, Strawberry Park in Preston CT, Hopkinton, RI all the way down to Micco, FL. Wherever Jerri went she made lifelong friends. Predeceased by her parents James F. and Jenarita A. Fox. Jerri was very proud of her Irish heritage. She idolized her father who passed way too early in her life. Jerri’s dad had a photographic memory and her mom was a school principal. She learned her abilities of debating, choice of words and ability to negotiate problems at a very early age from her parents and these qualities could be seen from the beginning of her life all the way until the end. Frequently Jerri could be seen putting others before herself and there are many stories of her helping others in need, often sacrificing herself for them. Jerri was the oldest of 4 children Leo Fox, Mary Lou Benson and James Fox. She loved her siblings deeply along with their spouses Agnes Fox, the late Bud {Arthur} Benson and the late Nancy Fox. Her children have endured many great stories of Jerri’s child/adult hood with her family members and the impacts they left in her life. She was married to the Late Robert W. Aldrich. She is survived by her brother-in-law Leon and his wife Betsy Aldrich and Lucille Aldrich. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Bill Aldrich. Her many nieces and nephews brought her joy. Jerri’s qualities and life impacts can be seen in all of her children. She was a very loving mom and her children’s spouses, in her mind, were equally her children. Denise and Manny Fusaro, Diane and Bill Kowal, Marc and Lori LaBrosse, Jim and Karen LaBrosse, David and Janice LaBrosse, William LaBrosse and Holly, and John and Caroline LaBrosse. As you can see, Jerri created her own large family, her children brought even more joy to her life with many grandchildren and their partners. Justin and Dearta Fusaro, Frank and Lindsey Fusaro, Jonathan Fusaro and Shannon, Billy Kowal and Nicole, Jenarita and Brandon Plante, Katie and Tory Walley, Marc LaBrosse III and Shenna, Michael and Cassie LaBrosse, James and Alisha LaBrosse, Robert LaBrosse, Sarah LaBrosse, Kyle LaBrosse, Connor LaBrosse, Joesph LaBrosse, Joshua LaBrosse, Carliebeth Caulfield and Chris, Brittney LaBrosse and Kevin, Billy LaBrosse Jr., John LaBrosse Jr., and Lauryn LaBrosse. As one can see Jerri (Grammy) had a lot of time to dole out between everyone but one thing can be guaranteed she tried to be fair and unselfish with her time and love with her family, she loved all equally. Several of Jerri’s grandchildren, to her delight, gave her great grandchildren. Grace and Henry Walley, Brandon and Patrick Plante, Lilly Face and Logan Davis. We think it’s safe to say Gigi’s lineage, qualities and love will live a long time. Some of Jerri’s accomplishments are that she graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Pawtucket, Attended Rhode Island College of Education and graduated from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks at Salve Regina College. She managed the Blackstone Valley Sheltered Workshop for disabled adults in Pawtucket in the 1960s. During the 1970’s she served as Chairman of the Title 1 Parent Advisory Committee at the Hope Valley Elementary School, Adult Advisor to the St. Joseph’s CYO in Hope Valley, and held several offices with the former Chariho Reading Is Fundamental Program. She was elected to Hopkinton School Committee 1976-1980. She was proud to serve as Deputy Town Clerk, Hopkinton RI, 1983–1988. She was elected to esteemed position of Town Clerk, Hopkinton RI 1988-1998. She served as Moderator of Hopkinton Town Meetings 1981-1982. Although she was always politically very active, she was very proud to be an Independent and work collaboratively with all parties. She spent her retirement years in Snug Harbor Lakes and immediately became active in the community. She served as President of the Master Board for many years and was the recent Vice President. She was highly respected and appreciated by many. She brought positive change to the community and her influences will live on. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in Hope Valley, RI and St. Luke Catholic Church in Micco, FL. We each have seen Jerri’s love and how well Jerri was loved. Jerri has so many friends from childhood onward that she loved dearly. The love of her friends extends beyond Jerri to the rest of her family. We could list names of those who have been enduring and loyal to her but that list would be a book in itself and each individual knows who they are. By itself that list speaks volumes about our mom and the beautiful persons she is and was. As her children, we can only speak from the perspective of Jerri that we know and we would welcome others to share their experiences of her. Like all of us Jerri had faults, but if you knew Jerri and gave her a chance her faults were minimal compared to her positive qualities. She was a loyal daughter, sibling, spouse, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She forgave and was forgiven. As a Mom she was equally fair, she was stern, understanding, forgiving, her love is by far the deepest we have ever felt. She taught us to love our children as much as she loved us, to love our family and friends like she loved hers. She will be dearly missed by all. Perhaps we are biased because she was our mom, the only mom we will ever know. We can say that our mom has made us so very proud and we will forever worship, miss, mourn and love her for who she was. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to: Town of Hopkinton, Historic Records Preservation Fund, 1 Town House Road, Hopkinton, RI 02833, as Jerri was very proud of the record preservation that began during her tenure and was responsible for locating several important historical documents; or to the RI Lions Sight Foundation, VIP Fishing Tournament/Camperships, PO Box 19671, Johnston, RI 02919, or visit http://www.lions4sight.org/fish.htm for information about this program.
