Joseph C. Carpenter, of Sanctuary Road, Charlestown, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the age of 69. He was the husband of the late Diane (Boyle) Carpenter who predeceased him on April 18, 2010. Born in South Kingstown, RI, he was a son of the late Joseph and Francine Carpenter. Joseph worked as a Computer Analyst for Electric Boat in Groton. He was an avid Classic Car buff who also enjoyed playing Chess. He leaves two children, Sean P. Carpenter of Charlestown and Danielle M. Carpenter of Westerly; and two siblings, Gilbert Carpenter of Richmond and Elaine Riccitelli of South Kingstown. He is also survived by five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joseph was predeceased by his brother Robert Carpenter. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5-7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday at 9:30am at the funeral home.
